WHGI's recent visit to TWOP

WHGI’S INTERVIEW WITH TWOP’S VICE PRESIDENT.

According to Mr Abosede Olabode Paul who is the vice president of Training and Work Development Organization for the poor the student playing ground are not a satisfied safety measures for the children and the space for the children playing ground is too small. And also made WHGI to understand that he has tried to introduce sport and recreation for the children but all the effort are futile as there are no funding allocated to these projects. Hence, in further speech The Vice President of TWOP reminded WHGI how little this children are being provided for as he will be happier to see that the children catch up and enjoy their childhood, making and realizing these dream he added that every child learns better in a conducive environment. He pointed out to WHGI that most of the kids are coming to school on barefoot, Imagine he said to WHGI at times the temperature could rise up to 45 Celsius, how then will a child of about 3 years old stand such a terrible situation, this he said calls for an immediate reprimand of our need to support and nurture these young minds to a greater future.

More so, he took WHGI’S president to inspect the toilet which was really disgusting and nothing to write home about, he advise the president of WHGI to support and help to provide fund to enable TWOP to employ more staffs to be able to keep the premises tidy, also showed WHGI the few children books which are placed on the floor due to the fact that the school lack book shelve and cabinet that when it rains the books often get socked up to the point of being damaged. How can we continue to teach these kids without their fundamental learning books retorted almost in tear. TWOP recently lost some teachers which have a negative impact on the children’s studying ability because of inadequate funding and lack of volunteers. The WHGI’S encouraging assurance and involvement to these cause has brought a massive relief to TWOP .

WHGI in collaboration with TWOP has exercised the important to organizing a training seminar to teach the community the important of self hygiene and family planning including most importantly the practice of safe sex to avoid contacting HIV aids which is one of the world most dangerous virus in history. Poverty is one of the most dangerous problems facing mankind as such; most poor people are completely cut off from the rest of the world. Millions of poor sick people are dieing as a result of poverty which constitute to millions dieing from lack of adequate medical attention .The United Nations estimates nearly 2.5 million people from 127 different countries are being trafficked around the world as a result of poverty. Reporters have witnessed a rapid increase in prostitution in Cambodia "the alarming enslavement of people for purposes of labor exploitation, often in their own countries, is a form of human trafficking that can be hard to track from afar. According to United States State Department data, an "estimated 600,000 to 820,000 men, women, and children are trafficked across international borders each year, approximately 70 percent are women and girls and up to 50 percent are minors. The data also illustrates that the majority of transnational victims are trafficked into commercial sexual exploitation. The victims of human trafficking can be used in a variety of situations, including prostitution, forced labor (including bonded labor or debt bondage) and other forms of involuntary servitude. The sale of babies and children for adoption or other purposes is also considered to be trafficking in those children. The Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children (also referred to as the Palermo Protocol) is a protocol to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and defines human trafficking as the "recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. As of September 2008, the Protocol has been signed by 117 countries, and there are 124 parties. Human trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal industry in the world, with the total annual revenue for trafficking in persons estimated to be between USD$5 billion and $9 billion. The Europe states, "People trafficking has reached epidemic proportions over the past decade, with a global annual market of about $42.5 billion. In the presidents of WHGI visit to Thmor Koul Village she took her time to array in her speech the need to deal with this potential threat e.g.

Ignorant

Illiteracy

Misinformation

Superstitious believe

Fake drugs

Illegal drugs stores

Drug abuse

In the WHGI research it is estimated that Millions of illegal immigrants are facing hardship in most case many never make it. The Poor victims who decided to migrate to a safer and better place for greener pastures often end up beaten up , used for sexual exploitation, abused, dead, some die even before they reach their destination because most people are forced and packed like animal in the worst human degrading condition by the human traffickers or under dogs. Human trafficking is the practice of humans being tricked, lured, coerced or otherwise removed from their home or country, and then forced to work with no or low payment or on terms which are highly exploitative. The practice is considered to be trade or commerce of people, which has many features of slavery, and which is illegal in most countries. Today many Africans and Asians are stranded abroad some are forced into labor others hide and can only come out at night for fear of being caught by the police and deported. Some are afraid to go back home due to the dept they had incurred in processing their traveling document. These victims often refuses to go back home even when giving the opportunity to do so. This has made many of them vulnerable and easy targets for drug traffickers and brothels mafias.

Due to lack of proper education WHGI has urged TWOP to go ahead and pass a bill of health, education and sanitary proposal to the Ministry of health Phnom Penh Cambodia, requesting for assistance to educate and train, Provide quick medical assistance by well trained medical doctors and nurses. Build a hospital for the community, more schools and Pharmacy including steady garbage clean up truck in and in the village market place. The community waste as witnessed by the president of WHGI in her visit was dumped in the market place were vegetables were sold, and almost every part of the village is a refuse dump, this has WHGI worried, who questioned one of the vegetable seller in the market was told that, quote “its not our fault they come here to dump the rubbish they bring from other places into our village and they dump in here, we can do nothing”. Effort must be made to put a stop to this, as this condition can lead to diseases breakout which in their present situation many will die if care is not taken.

WHGI’S ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF THE PROJECT

WHGI in colaboration with TWOP

World Humanitarian Group International (WHGI) Non-profit Organization is Joining in collaboration with Training Work Development Organization For the poor (TWOP), to fight against poverty in Thmor Koul community.

WHGI; THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF THE PROJECT

The overall project assessment could account to $ 10 Million Dollars (40.000.000.000. Forty Billion Riel).

World Humanitarian Group International WHGI Non-profit Organization has decided to work in collaboration with Training Work Development Organization for the Poor TWOP, to implement a strategic and a cutting edge approach to help improve the situation of lack and health care including education in Thmor Koul Community. The president and founder of World Humanitarian Group International Miss Sylva Epelle along side with the president and founder of Training Work Development Organization for the Poor TWOP Mr Sok Vibol (James) and his Vice president Mr Abosede Olabode Paul Came to a conclusive decision to come together and agree on how to improve the life of the Thmor Koul Village.

THE PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF TWOP:

The president of Training Work Development Organization for the Poor TWOP has done a great deal of work in the live’s of his community. He founded TWOP to help his community which so far he has helped to improve the standard of education of the less privilege in the community. His only means of support to his Ngo is by working other jobs himself, that is to say that the only funding the school gets is by the founder of TWOP himself otherwise, according to him he told the president of WHGI that he can only carry out a project with his own fund that he could not get fund except he works and use his salary for the students in his Ngo .He dedicated his home for the children wellbeing, where he created class rooms so that they will get education. The unconditional love extends to the member of his family whom has selflessly dedicated their time and entire life to serving their community. The president of TWOP’S wife works tirelessly to help her husband to take care of the children, she helps in cleaning, Preparing paper work, teaching the kids and even as far as taking care of the little one’s who are still learning potty training and cleaning the whole environment where these children study. Her generosity and kindness reminds us on the need to help provide funds for this poor family who has so much to offer their community. Their 11year old daughter sells petty consumable goods right after school and she uses her spare time to help teach the kid in kindergarten as they lack enough teacher to help teach these kids.

TWOP stresses the urgent need for support in other to continue taking care of the less privilege kids including dumb students.

TWOP EDUCATION AND NEEDS:

Training Work Development Organization for the Poor TWOP has helped to provide education for the less privilege in Thmor Koul Village however the school is lacking in several ways of which is important to contribute our efforts and time to improve the situation in TWOP less privilege education care. The need to carry out these missions is not only to help the poor community, but to improve and nurture the children to become leaders and self sustainable society. Therefore we must strive to ensure that our major objectives concerning these less privilege children are met.

THE PRESIDENT OF WHGI’S DISCOVERY DURING IT'S VISIT TO TWOP:

The president of WHGI visit to TWOP less privilege education center was by far the most interesting visit in record, as WHGI was able to successfully meet the less privilege kids and spoke to them in English, which to the president of WHGI surprise the students response was astounding thanks to TWOP who has effortlessly and it’s teachers taught and encouraged these children on how to read, write and respond when spoken to in English. WHGI was able to notice without ado the basic needs of the less privilege children which are vital for every child. The school needs an adequate space for study which presently there are more than 200 students presently but without class rooms. The incomplete building has little or no class room as the space is so small for the number of the less privilege children thereby giving rise to health concerns, due to inadequate ventilation; this has left WHGI concerned over how to improve the standard and quality of the study space in the school. WHGI took note of their pressing needs and promised to help and support them in every way possible to make sure that these less privilege children attend school in a more conducive and safer environment. However TWOP has done a wonderful job in the school, so far TWOP has provided the few books which they are now studying presently, TWOP also provided school uniforms and also paid the teachers who are teaching the kids not to mention giving up his home for the less privilege. Much is still needed to run the school and community as a whole .The school is situated in the east of the Thmor Koul Village and there are over 1000 Families Living in Thmor Koul Village and living on A dollar per day basis. The child needs fund and volunteers to support her project which will be jointly carried out by WHGI and TWOP. There are no adequate toilets for the children this has given WHGI great concern because that kind of situation is unacceptable. According to the president of TWOP children under 5 years old urinates all over the tiny space where they study presently and it is his wife who wash and clean the mess the kids make while they are studying, the president of TWOP told WHGI in her address that they could not afford to pay a cleaner who will be in charge of cleaning the kids and the toilets as well .overall the poor hygiene environment has giving rise to fresh worries for these less privilege children.

THMOR KOUL COMMUNITY:

Thmor Koul communities are very hardworking people who labor tirelessly for their daily needs. On the visit the president of WHGI was opportune to speak with a woman with 2-4 kids who was pushing a cart sea food as a means of income she works everyday from 6am till 7pm for just $10. .00 per day upon talking to her she complained and told the ngo,s how she was forced to give up her baby for adoption since she could not be able to feed them. The president of WHGI was told that there are many more doing the same as a result of poverty. WHGI is working hard to help put a stop to mother and child separating in these manner, WHGI has decided to puts head together and find the means to support these women and their children even the unborn child to help secure a happy and loving home for mother and child in her next project (MOTHER & CHILD) . Every child deserves to be happy and every mother deserves to be with her child and help mentor and guide her child to adulthood. The president of WGHI conducted a tour upon her first visit to Thmor Koul village and the visit was rather a touching one as many as many families were living in a abject poverty in some cases WHGI visited a sick patience who was living with other 4 families in a room altogether 20 people in one room including children and babies, the building has no roof and very little cover when it rains you can imagine how it will be for the babies and the sick in such condition. The community has pressing needs which needs an immediate attention, the president of TWOP informed WHGI in her visit the important of engaging the youths in a program whereby they will be trained and encouraged to cater for their needs and become a self sustainable community, other wise they might turn out to become vagabonds and petty thieves . In Thmor Koul village there is no Health Care center the village is far from the main town which means a long distance to the nearest hospital making the chances slim should there be any emergency need for medical attention.

The pharmacy in the Thmor Koul Village is being operated by an unqualified and unregistered person.
